Our minister, Rev Dr Nicola Anne Robinson, was inducted into the Leeds URC Partnership on 3 September 2022.
Nicola writes . . .
I am the named minister at our Church here at Headingly St Columba, as well as Stainbeck and Christ Church Halton LEP, serving the Leeds URC Partnership.
I was ordained in September 2022 and trained for ministry at Northern College in Manchester, where I had placements with the Scottish Episcopal Church, the L’Arche Community, Workplace Chaplaincy, the Presbyerian Church in Taiwan and the Sheffield URC Team Ministry. Immediately before training, I worked for Edinburgh Churches Together and volunteered in Mental Health Chaplaincy.
My ministry is deeply person-centred, it’s about building relationships with people who are different ages/cultures/abilities/sexualities, as well as across the churches, the wider community and the city. I am passionate about deepening individuals’ and congregations’ relationships with God, through different types of worship, Bible studies and creative ways of praying. I recognise Elders and members have many gifts and skills which I nurture and encourage in all areas of church life – from leading parts of worship to finance, work with children to food and hospitality.
I was born, and grew up, in the bonnie capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. I have also lived in Stirling, York and Sheffield. I currently live with my dog Maisie, a 7 year old cockapoo. My family – Mum and Dad, brother, sister-in-law, nephews and niece live in Edinburgh and East Kilbride.
In my spare time, I love walking with Maisie in the woods, hills or at the beach. I am an avid reader and knitter (though I haven’t quite mastered the art of being able to do both at the same time!) I enjoy tea and cake with friends and adventures, which are often muddy and messy, with my nephews.
